Competitions
Drone clubs and competitions for teens
Once a teen can fly confidently, a club or competition is what keeps them growing. Here's how to get there.
Why competitions help
- They give a clear goal and a deadline.
- They push precision and consistency, not just "fun flying".
- They build teamwork and resilience under pressure.
Finding a club
- Ask your school about a STEM, robotics or drone club.
- Look for local maker spaces, community centres or after-school programs.
- Start small: a small group with one adult and a safe space is enough.
Starting your own
- Find 4–6 interested families.
- Agree on a safe flying spot and a simple safety code.
- Meet weekly with one clear skill focus.
- Enter a beginner-friendly local event when ready.
A club turns "a toy" into a skill that grows.
